Sridevi’s 3rd Death Anniversary: Sridevi was an Indian actress and producer, who worked in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada language films.

Sridevi started her career at the age of 4 with the Tamil movie Kandan Karunai. She went on to become a popular face as a child artiste across many film industries. She is still remembered for playing the younger sister of Lakshmi in the 1975 film Julie.

Sridevi’s other memorable films are Kshana Kshanam, Johnny, Priya, Sigappu Rojakkal, Karthika Deepam, Thulavarsham, Varumayin Niram Sivappu, Sandhippu, Vetagadu, Kavari Maan and more.

Sridevi made her Bollywood debut in a leading role with 1979 movie Solva Sawan. Soon enough, it was Himmatwala in 1983 that brought her fame in Hindi films. Sridevi and Jeetendra’s hit pairing gave 16 films including Tohfa, Jaani Dost, Justice Chaudhry, Aulad, Suhagan, among others.

Sridevi worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Army (1996).

The actor had also developed a passion for painting. In the year 2010, her paintings were sold by an international art auction house. The money raised were donated.

Their first daughter – Janhvi was born in 1997. Janhvi is a successful Hindi film actor today. Their younger daughter Khushi was born in the year 2000.

Sridevi died of “accidental drowning” in a Dubai hotel in 2018. While Mom was her last movie as a lead actor, her last onscreen appearance was in SRK’s Zero posthumously.
