Google Pay UPI: Google Pay, an app by Google for simple UPI and utility transactions was initially launched as Tez – Payment App by Google on August 17, 2017. Later this app was named as Google Pay.

Some users are getting mobile number OTP verification issue while registering on Google Pay app with their mobile number. As now all the payment apps uses security method to verify the user’s mobile number with OTP, it will be a critical problem if you can’t able to verify your Google Pay app OTP.

Google Pay app automatically sends an OTP to your mobile number on which mobile number you’re trying to register on the Google Pay app. To make sure this process works properly, please don’t run any background apps while registering on Google Pay App.

If too many OTP requests in Google Pay App issue exists please close all of your recent apps and restart your phone. Then, try to register again on the Google Pay app.

2. UPI OTP not Coming Google Pay App

Google Pay works on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system. So it needs to be verified by the concerned bank with the app for securely authorize the transactions. When your try to create your UPI id in Google Pay app, it sends an OTP to it’s system for detection of mobile number with the linked bank. Final UPI confirmation OTP comes from your bank’s side.

So, if you’re facing UPI OTP not coming Google Pay app, please keep the UPI loading screen open in the Google Pay app until it’s showing success message.

3. Google Pay Verification SMS Could not be sent

To authorize UPI transactions with the bank, Google Pay sends an OTP to its systems. So, if you don’t have any SMS pack or Google Pay app SMS permission deny then you will get Google Pay Verification SMS could not be sent.

Google Pay Verification SMS Could not be sent can appear two times:

  1. When you’re trying to register in the Google Pay App
  2. When you’re trying to link your bank account in Google Pay app.

To resolve Google Pay Verification SMS Could not be sent issue, make sure that you have an active SMS plan in your smartphone and you must allow the Google Pay app to receive, send and read SMS on your phone.
